Sean O'Neill Sentenced for DUI Violation

Sean Owen O'Neill Jr., who in 2006 shot and killed his best friend in drunken horseplay but who had until now never seen the inside of a jail cell, was sentenced to 60 days to six months in Chester County Prison for a Thanksgiving Day driving under the influence charge. The sentence, imposed by Common Pleas Court Judge William P. Mahon came after an hour-long sentencing hearing that touched on the six year old fatal shooting and the devastation that alcohol had wrought on O'Neill's family, was an unusually severe sentence for a first-DUI offender. Most such defendants in the county are either given probation or 72 hours behind bars. Read more...
