'Pillowcase Rapist' Released

Christopher Hubbart, 63, who confessed to raping at least 40 women in Los Angeles and San Francisco between 1971 and 1982, will be released from a state psychiatric facility and placed in a home in Lake Los Angeles by July 7, Capt. Defense Attorney Fatally Shot

Officials say a defense attorney well known in his small, southern Kentucky town has been shot and killed outside of his law office. Somerset police say Mark Stanziano, 57, was shot multiple times outside his downtown office. Police have arrested Clinton D. Inabnitt, 40, of Somerset. Read more...

Nine Shot on Bourbon Street

Two gunmen opened fire in the heart of Bourbon Street, critically injuring two people and wounding seven others as tourists scrambled for cover. "These are two cowardly young men who chose to settle a dispute with total disregard for human life," New Orleans Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas said of the shooters. Remains Identified After 20 Years

A skeleton found dumped in a ditch along a Washington state highway nearly twenty years ago has finally been identified as a missing Los Angeles man. Authorities this week identified the remains, discovered along State Route 16 in Purdy, Wash., on December 23, 1994, as those of 30-year-old Darrell J. Hill. He had been shot in the head several times. In March 1993, Hill was reported missing from Los Angeles under what police called suspicious circumstances. Read more...

Bones Are Girl's Who Vanished in 1976

Authorities have identified a set of bones as a Florida teenager who disappeared nearly 40 years ago -- and are now pleading for the public's help to figure out what happened to her. Nancy Grace Daniel was last seen on Sept. 6, 1976 leaving the Wooden Nickel game room in Orlando, according to her cousin, Eugenia Oliver. The 14-year-old talked to someone inside a car before getting in at around 12:30 a.m., Oliver said. Read more...

Oklahoma Executions Challenged

Prison officials are experimenting on death row inmates and violating the U.S. Constitution's ban on cruel and unusual punishment by tinkering with Oklahoma's lethal injection procedures, attorneys for a group of condemned Oklahoma inmates argued in a federal lawsuit. Filed on behalf of 21 death row inmates, the lawsuit seeks to halt any attempt to execute them using the state's current lethal injection protocols, which it claims presents a risk of severe pain and suffering. Chester Turner Gets 2nd Death Sentence

A jury has recommended another death sentence for a man who's already on death row for murdering 10 women in the Los Angeles area. The panel recommended that Chester D. Turner should be put to death for killing four other women between 1987 and 1997. The former pizza deliveryman was convicted last week in the second spate of killings. DNA Overturns Death Sentence

The Florida Supreme Court is throwing out the conviction of a death row inmate after new DNA evidence raised questions about whether or not he strangled a woman nearly 30 years ago. A divided court also overturned the death sentence for Paul C. Hildwin. Hildwin had been sentenced to die for killing 42-year-old Vronzettie Cox, whose nude body was found stuffed in the trunk of a car parked in some woods in September 1985. Read more...

Fugitive Used Dead Boys' IDs

Investigators in Iowa are crediting facial recognition technology with helping them capture an armed robber who escaped from a North Carolina prison in 1973. Investigators say 69-year-old Ronald Dwaine Carnes was living in northeastern Iowa under the identities of two five-year-old boys who died in the 1940s. He's set to appear in federal court in Iowa to face weapons, identity theft and Social Security fraud charges. Read more...

Police say five people have been treated for gunshot wounds after a conflict at a 21st birthday party in Massachusetts erupted in gunfire. The shootings occurred at the party at a home in Lowell. Mom Violently Beaten on Video

A young mother in southern New Jersey was viciously beaten by another woman as the victim's young son looked on. Video of the assault was later posted on Facebook. The altercation occurred outdoors Tuesday in Salem, N.J., according to the station. Police have identified the suspect as 25-year-old Latia Harris. Chief John Pelura III said that, once apprehended, Harris will face charges of aggravated assault and two counts of terroristic threats. See video...

Convicted Man Dies in Court

Authorities in Cleveland say a man collapsed and died outside a courtroom minutes after a judge sentenced him to 60 days in jail for trying to restrain and kiss a 14-year-old girl. The coroner's office is expected to determine why 51-year-old Miguel Aybar died. The Northeast Ohio Media Group reports that Aybar was in handcuffs when he slumped to the floor in the hallway outside the courtroom. Read more...

Judge Frees Convicted Killer

DeKalb's top prosecutor contends a judge overstepped and broke the law when he released a woman a jury convicted of murder and is now asking the court to order the woman's immediate arrest. "Pamela L. Ballin — found guilty of malice murder — has been released into the community with no bond and against the laws of Georgia," said a motion DeKalb District Attorney Robert James filed in Superior Court. Superior Court Judge Mark Anthony Scott released Pamela Ballin last week, saying he was considering overturning a jury's verdict that she was guilty of murdering her husband, Derrick "Ricky" Ballin Sr. in 2009. Man Arrested in Suitcase Murders

Wisconsin police have arrested a 52-year-old man in connection with the bodies of two women found stuffed into suitcases in early June. Town of Geneva police said Wednesday that Stephen Zelich, of West Allis, a Milwaukee suburb, was taken into custody, and that one of the victims had been identified. No charges were announced. Singer Chris Brown was close to a plea deal in his assault case that would have kept him out of jail, but the talks fell apart when prosecutors and defense attorneys couldn't agree on what he would acknowledge happened last year. Brown was arrested in October outside a hotel and charged with misdemeanor assault. A fan accused the singer of hitting him when he tried to get in a photograph Brown was taking with two women. A special education teacher in Tennessee is charged in the shooting death of her boyfriend. Stephanie Cole, 36, who taught at Martin Elementary School in Martin, Tenn., was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of her boyfriend, 31-year-old Louis Tammaro, a local construction businessman. Boyfriend of Missing Teacher on the Run

The boyfriend of a missing North Carolina teacher is believed to be "on the run," a police source said. Bianca Tanner, 31, was reported missing by her boyfriend, Angelo Smith Jr., on June 7. A warrant was issued for Smith's arrest June 22 on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after Tanner's 3-year-old son reportedly told police he saw Smith abuse his mother. Former University of Washington head football coach Jim Lambright was arrested on June 18 in a domestic violence investigation in Snohomish County. Lambright, 74, grabbed his 23-year-old granddaughter and tried to drag her out of his Snohomish house before she slipped away and called 911, according to documents from the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office. Deputies Seek Owner of Lost Bag of Meth

Idaho authorities turned to Facebook to track down the owner of a lost bag of methamphetamine after it fell off a speeding motorcyclist southwest of Boise. "If you were driving a motorcycle on Amity Road on Friday morning and mistakenly lost almost three ounces of methamphetamine, we found it - and we'd like to meet you," wrote Patrick Orr, spokesman for the Ada County Sheriff's Office. Date Set for 2nd Hernandez Trial

A judge has scheduled a tentative May 2015 trial date for former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez in the 2012 drive-by shootings of two men, and his lawyers asked the judge to issue a gag order because of intense media coverage. But first, he's due to to go trial for another murder in October. 2 Killed, Several Wounded in Shooting

Two people were killed and multiple others wounded following a shooting early in Miami's Liberty City neighborhood, police said. Miami City Manager Daniel Alfonso said the dead include a 20-year-old man and a teenage girl. Pregnant Woman's Killer Sought

Police have launched a murder investigation after the body of a full-term pregnant woman was found in a suburban Baltimore home. The victim's unborn child also did not survive. Baltimore County Police were called to a Rosedale home after Summer Shemida Smith's mother discovered the lifeless body of her 33-year-old daughter. The details of her death have not been released. Police ID Victims of Triple Murder

Three people are dead following an early morning shooting in southeast Wichita. Shortly after midnight, a woman called 911 from the basement of a home saying someone was shooting a gun upstairs. When officers entered the basement, they found the body of a 20-year-old woman. Her five-month-old son was found unharmed next to her. Police say she called 911 before she was shot. The suspect, 41-year-old Vinh Van Nguyen, was taken in for questioning then booked for capital murder. Read more...

Husband Charged in Murder

Prosecutors have now charged the husband of a woman from Ozark, Missouri with her death and with setting a fire in her home. Aaron Wayne Clemons is charged with 1st degree murder, kidnapping, armed criminal action, arson and several counts of child endangerment. Woman Sentenced for Kidnapping Newborn

A woman who dressed as a nurse and abducted a 3-day-old boy from a Pittsburgh hospital in a handbag has been sentenced to up to five years in prison followed by 10 years' probation. Grandmother's Body Found in Minivan

A silver alert for a missing 74-year-old woman ended in tragedy when her body was found in the back of her minivan outside her nudist home in Florida. Sylvia Rosalie Schmitt's 18-year-old grandson, Brandon Machetto, has been charged with her murder after he was found driving her body away from her home in Lutz, Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco said at a press conference. Drugs Blamed in 5-Death Crash

Southern California authorities say tests show a 30-year-old driver had prescription drugs in his system when his van crashed into a sedan, killing five members of a family heading to Disneyland. Convicted Arkansas Murderer Escapes

A convicted murderer remains on the loose, armed with a shotgun and a bag full of ammunition, days after an escape from an Arkansas prison, officials say. Timothy Buffington, 47, went on the lam from the Pine Bluff Unit in Pine Bluff, Ark., and reportedly held a woman hostage in the Princeton Pike area of the city at one point. The 5-foot-6 white man was more than 15 years through a 20-year sentence for killing his ex-wife. Dr. Robert M. Neulander, a prominent Central New York obstetrician-gynecologist, has been arraigned Monday and charged with murder in connection with his wife's death in 2012. Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick's office has been investigating the death of Leslie Neulander, the doctor's wife, since her death Sept. 17, 2012. A man who authorities say stabbed his girlfriend to death in front of her daughter on a beach in Louisiana has been arrested. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said that 28-year-old Randy Marcel is jailed on suspicion that he stabbed 34-year-old Jennifer Dorzier in Grand Isle, She was pronounced dead at the scene. Home Invasion Suspect Linked to Murder

A man accused of robbing and sexually assaulting an elderly woman in a home invasion is now a suspect in the murder of a Michigan mother found dead earlier this year, police say. The body of Yolanda Reyes, 40, was found by a construction crew in Walker in May, nearly a month after she disappeared. No arrests have been made in the case. Jogger Finds Missing Infant

A missing baby was found alive in tall grass by a jogger on Houston's north side. Shortly after 3 a.m., an Amber Alert was issued for 8-month-old Genesis Haley. A few hours later, the unidentified jogger told Houston police she found the crying child outside in a car seat. A judge has ruled that statements given to police by Joshua Miner, one of the defendants charged with the murders of Eric Glover and Terrance Rankins are admissible and can be used against him in court. Ohio Jury Wimps Out

A jury is recommending a life sentence without parole for a 22-year-old man convicted of killing four people in a northeast Ohio townhome last year. The jury in Akron decided against recommending the death penalty Friday for Derrick Brantley. The same jury convicted Brantley of aggravated murder in the April 2013 slayings of the young adults. San Diego police say a man has been arrested in the holiday-season killings of two brothers and a woman one of them was engaged to marry. Police Lt. Mike Hastings says 29-year-old Carlo Gallopa was arrestedbooked on suspicion of three counts of murder. Authorities say Salvadore Belvedere and Ilona Flint were found fatally shot in the parking lot of a San Diego mall in the early hours of Christmas Eve. Man Pleads Guilty in Aspen Killing

A former Denver anesthesiologist has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the bludgeoning death of a prominent Aspen woman and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. William F. Styler, 66, entered his plea after accepting a deal with prosecutors. Styler said that he went to the 57-year-old Nancy Pfister's home on Feb. 24 and attacked her with a hammer while she slept. Burglary Suspect Charged With Murder

An Oregon teenager accused of nighttime break-ins of occupied homes now faces a murder charge. Police in Albany, about 60 miles south of Portland, learned that 36-year-old Angela Stephenson had been shot last month when her 8-year-old son called 911 to say he'd been awakened by a noise and found his mother bleeding on the kitchen floor and the back door to the apartment unlocked. Man Guilty of Beating Girlfriend's Son

A Plaistow, N.H. man was convicted of 11 charges in connection with the severe beating of his girlfriend's 3-year-old son but was acquitted on a single charge of burning the boy. Roland Dow was accused of assaulting the toddler, failing to get him medical help, coaching him to lie to a social worker and secretly recording the social worker's visit. Teen, 14, Fatally Stabs Student

A 14-year-old boy has been charged in the stabbing death of another 14-year-old student during a fight Wednesday afternoon outside a Bronx middle school. Police said the victim, Timothy Crump, died after being stabbed several times in the stomach following the fight. A man left to care for a severely disabled Yonkers girl who died in 2012 after years of reported neglect surrendered to face charges of criminally negligent homicide and endangering the welfare of a child. A King County Sheriff's Office deputy was arrested on suspicion of helping his wife start a prostitution business, as well as stealing ammunition from the Sheriff's Office firing range and dabbling in a number of illegal drugs. Seattle resident Darrion Holiwell, 49, is being held in King County Jail on $150,000 bail. Mom Whose Child Had Meth in System at Large

Police renewed their months-long effort to find a mother on the run whose 6-year-old daughter had tested positive for meth. Leslie Von Wald, 44, has been indicted by a Washington County grand jury on charges of distributing methamphetamine and warrants were issued for her arrest. Florida Executes John Ruthell Henry

Utah Teen Pleads Guilty to Murder

A Utah teenager is pleading guilty to intentionally and knowingly stabbing his two younger brothers to death as part of a plea deal. The 16-year-old agreed to the deal in a court in Farmington. The agreement calls for him to serve time for one count of murder in juvenile detention until he turns 21. Grandfather Arrested in Double Murder

A 6-year-old boy's slumber party ended in tragedy after his grandfather allegedly shot dead his mother and another man inside their Ohio home — making the child a reported witness to his mother's murder. Several children were inside the Cincinnati-area home when gunshots rang out, killing 29-year-old Lacey L. Rutherford, police said. The boy's grandfather, Alfred I. Actor Michael Jace has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge in the shooting death of his wife in their Los Angeles home. In addition, a judge ordered Jace to stay away from his two young children and not contact them if he is eventually released on $2 million bail. Woman Drags Boyfriend With Car

A Nashville woman was arrested and charged with rolling her boyfriend's arm up in her car window and dragging him. A man reported his girlfriend Stacey M. Stewart, 38, came to his Hadley Drive home on June 7 at 5:57 a.m. He had just returned from a night club and went to her car to talk to her about getting her some "weed," according to her warrant. A former cab driver has been sentenced to life in prison for the stabbing death of a 71-year-old woman in her South Salt Lake, Utah home 25 years ago. Gary Dean Hilfiker was sentenced Friday after pleading guilty in May to aggravated murder in the 1989 death of Flora Rundle. He had given rides to Rundle several times, and was charged with breaking into her home, stabbing her and taking a couple hundred dollars from her purse. Read more...

Mom Found Dead in Wrecked Car

After an Ohio mother was found dead in the woods in a wrecked car, the woman's family is seeking answers. Friends and family had searched for 29-year-old Colerain Township resident Jena Higgins since midday Sunday, according to the woman's mother, Julie Ramage. On Monday, after Higgins was reported missing by her mother, two of Higgins' friends found the crushed Pontiac that contained her body off Cilley Road in Whitewater Township, 15 miles away from her home. Six teens have been charged in three assaults over the course of three days. Police are trying to determine whether or not this is a result of the "Knockout" game, in which many kids sneak up on strangers and deliver a haymaker punch trying to knock that person to the ground. Cops Find Body of Missing Woman

Miami-Dade police detectives scouring a canal near the Everglades have found a corpse and the SUV of a missing woman whose husband has charged with her murder. The department said that Raquel Calderin's Ford Expedition was found submerged in a canal along Krome Avenue north of Tamiami Trail in West Miami-Dade. A body – presumably hers – was inside the waterlogged SUV, although the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's Office must now determine whether the corpse is indeed Calderin. Read more...

An ex-felon has been convicted of second-degree murder for fatally shooting a man during an argument in unincorporated San Leandro four years ago. 2 Charged in Road Rage Death

Two people have been charged in the shooting death of a Northern California man during a road rage incident that prompted one officer to raise more than $104,000 to help support the victim's family. Fidadelfo Silva Ortiz, 17, and Daniel Alejandro Reyes, 23, both of San Jose, were arrested separately late last month on suspicion of killing Phuoc Hong Long Lam, 37, police said. Testimony Allowed in Running Death

Jurors will get to hear testimony by medical workers who treated a 9-year-old Alabama girl who officials say was forced by her grandmother to run as punishment until she collapsed and died, a judge ruled. Circuit Judge William Ogletree refused to place broad limits on what emergency responders and hospital workers could say about the way they cared for Savannah Hardin. Baby Found Crawling on Road

Authorities in northeast Georgia say the father of a 1-year-old girl found crawling along a highway has been charged with child cruelty, reckless conduct and obstruction. A man driving along Highway 72 in Carlton called 911 after he spotted the girl and put her in his vehicle. Madison County sheriff's officials say the girl's father, 37-year-old Timothy Pickens, approached while deputies were investigating and was arrested after a scuffle. Read more...

Memphis Man Sentenced to Death

A jury on Sunday sentenced a Memphis man to death for killing his girlfriend and her parents in a shooting rampage in a home more than two years ago. Jurors deliberated for two hours before handing down the death sentence for Sedrick Clayton, 31. They also could have sentenced Clayton to life in prison, with or without the possibility of parole. The same 12-person jury convicted Clayton of first degree murder Saturday for the fatal shooting of his girlfriend, 23-year-old Pashea Fisher, and her parents in the Fishers' home on January 19, 2012. Man Guilty in Triple Murder

A Memphis man has been convicted of first-degree murder in the fatal shootings of his girlfriend and her parents more than two years ago. Sedrick Clayton was convicted following a jury trial in the deaths of 23-year-old Pashea Fisher and her parents during an argument in January 2012. Clayton and Fisher's 4-year-old daughter was in the house at the time. Clayton took the girl with him before turning himself in hours after the shooting. The girl, now 6, was a key trial witness. Police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder after his brother was fatally shot during a weekend family birthday celebration in South Los Angeles. Los Angeles police Lt. Police are looking for two people suspected of fleeing a Houston car crash in which three teenagers were killed. The accident occurred on a freeway feeder road in the southeast part of the city. Houston police say a white Chrysler was speeding and ran a red light, hitting a blue Chevrolet. Six teenagers were inside the Chevrolet when it spun on impact, hitting a light pole. Four people have been charged in connection with a shooting that left a west suburban woman critically injured. Police received a 911 call saying multiple shots were fired and one person was hit in the 200 block of North Fourth Street in Aurora. Teen Escapes by Stabbing Kidnapper

Police are looking for a man suspected of kidnapping a 16-year-old suburban Denver girl who managed to escape after stabbing her abductor with his knife. Police say the abductor asked the girl for directions as she waited for a bus and then offered to give her a ride home. She accepted, but when they got near her house she told authorities that he drove into an alley in Edgewater. She says he pulled out a knife, bound her hands with rope and began to drive away. About an hour later, she said was able to escape after freeing one of her hands, getting the knife off the floor and stabbing the suspect. Read more...

Jury Finds Man Guilty of 2013 Murder

For much of this week, Edward J. Williams found himself in a position similar to one he'd been in eight years ago: on trial for a shooting on the Hilltop. A jury acquitted Williams in 2006 in connection with a nonfatal shooting, but a different jury deciding his fate in Franklin County Common Pleas Court quickly reached a different verdict in an unrelated 2013 homicide. A former substance-abuse counselor was sentenced to 55 years to life in prison for fatally striking a pedestrian who was lodged in the windshield as she drove drunk for two more miles before finally being stopped. In April, Sherri Lynn Wilkins, 53, was found guilty of murder, driving under the influence and other charges after the 2012 incident in which she struck 31-year-old Phillip Moreno as he crossed a street in Torrance. Burgler Shot Dead, Accomplice Charged

A man accused of burglary is also charged with second-degree murder after his alleged partner in the attempted break-in was shot dead by the home's owner. Officers responded to a home in St. Louis's Bevo Mill neighborhood, where a 17-year-old girl reported being confronted by two men with guns while outside getting something from her car. She said the men demanded she return to her residence with them and began to walk her back inside. The father of a disabled girl believed his daughter was alive when he spoke to her mother just days before - not dead and stuffed inside a refrigerator. Neighbors told Houston Police they hadn't seen the 9-year-old girl that suffered from cerebral palsy for months and went looking for her in the mother's unlocked apartment. Chiefs' Sean Smith Cited for DUI

Chiefs cornerback Sean Smith was cited for driving under the influence and careless driving after an officer witnessed him lose control and strike a light pole. According to a copy of the police report, Smith was attempting to make a turn in Kansas City's Power & Light entertainment district when he struck the light pole around 12:30 a.m. The officer reported that Smith "appeared confused and began mumbling statements that I did not understand." Mom Killed, 2 Children Missing

Police and the FBI are searching for two young Detroit siblings after their 27-year-old mother was found shot to death in a vacant house about six miles from her home. The Wayne County medical examiner's office says an autopsy determined Alicia Fox had been shot twice in the head. Her body was badly decomposed. Detroit police spokesman Officer Adam Madera says Fox had been missing for several weeks. Police have charged a 15-year-old boy with shooting a pregnant Pennsylvania teenager last month, killing her fetus. Court papers show that Eric Taylor of Duquesne was arrested Tuesday. Police found 37 bags filled with dead dogs in a Tennessee home and confiscated 39 live dogs from a woman who claimed to be their "rescuer," authorities said. Nicole Hulbig, 29, now faces animal cruelty charges for the treatment of the living dogs but cannot be charged for the deaths of the others, The Leaf Chronicle reported. Luis Gonzalez Acquitted in Murder

Luis "Fat Boy" Gonzalez has been acquitted of murder in the shooting death of a Providence child. Gonzalez, along with four other admitted gang members, was charged in connection with the June 2013 shooting in which 12-year-old Aynis Vargas was killed and three women were injured. His was the only case that made it to trial; the rest pleaded guilty to their respective roles. Mom Missing Since June 6

A 21-year-old Long Island mother of a 4-year-old was reported missing by her family after they had not seen her for two days. The family of Sarah P. Goode called Suffolk County police Sunday and said they had not seen her since Friday, June 6. About an hour later, Goode's gray 1999 BMW was found parked in a wooded area in Medford, far from the Long Island home where Goode lived with her mother and daughter. Read more...

Police say an Alabama man is charged with killing the man who molested his daughter more than a decade ago. Sheriff's officials say the father is charged with murder in the shooting of 59-year-old Raymond Earl Brooks. The Associated Press isn't naming the suspect to protect his daughter's identity. 'Loud Music Death' Retrial Set

Michael Dunn, a Florida man who killed a teenager during an argument over loud music, will face a second murder trial after an original jury deadlocked on the charge. A judge ruled that Dunn will be tried again starting Sept. 22. In February, a jury deadlocked on the first-degree murder count but convicted Dunn of three counts of attempted murder for shooting at his companions. Police say a dispatcher has been fired after failing to relay key information to officers responding to a call from a woman who was killed 12 minutes into a 911 call. Police arrested two men as part of a large heroin bust on Mount Washington. According to the Attorney General's Office, two men were arrested at a home on William Street. The suspects have been identified as 33-year-old Price Montgomery and 35-year-old James Perrin. Law enforcement and the DEA seized 1,500 bricks of heroin (75,000 stamped bags), 16 firearms, more than $100,000 in cash and jewelry, two luxury vehicles, Cuban cigars and a live chicken. A former NFL offensive lineman has been arrested on narcotics charges, after he was busted selling painkillers to undercover agents. Former offensive lineman Gennaro DiNapoli was arrested after a court warrant said he sold 330 pills of oxycodone to DEA agents. Police say two suspects shot two officers at a Las Vegas pizza parlor before fatally shooting a person and turning the guns on themselves at a nearby Walmart. Las Vegas police spokesman Larry Hadfield says the spree began when a man and woman walked into CiCi's Pizza restaurant and shot two officers who were eating lunch. Police say a 25-year-old man, behind the wheel of a silver Mazda, ran a red light in Sacramento. Investigators believe the man was driving under the influence. After running that red light, the Mazda collided with a silver Dodge Ram. And, seconds after the two cars collided, police say the driver of the Mazda got out, and tried to make a run for it. A Phoenix man is in custody after his baby son allegedly ingested methamphetamine off the father's thumb. Authorities say 24-year-old Christopher Telles is being held on suspicion of child abuse. The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced that a woman wanted for killing her husband in California in 2008 has been arrested in Peru. According to the FBI, Nazira Maria Cross, 48, was arrested at her new home in Peru by Peruvian National Police. The principal of one of Houston's YES preparatory schools was arrested by Houston narcotics officers who say he was carrying cocaine. Hugh Buckler Guill, 28, was arrested after a traffic stop in the 2300 block of West Alabama. Guill is charged with possession of a controlled substance. He posted a $5,000 bond and was released. You probably won't see Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay behind the wheel of a car anytime soon -- his license has been suspended for 1 year for refusing to submit to a blood test during his DUI arrest. Reward Offered in Beheading Case

The sheriff investigating the decapitation of an elderly man and also the slaying of his wife says reward money is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills said in a statement that the president of a Lake Oconee resort is offering $30,000 for information leading to the suspects involved in the death of 88-year-old Russell Dermond and his 87-year-old wife Shirley. Teen Accused of Killing Grandparents

A 19-year-old is in custody for allegedly murdering his grandparents. Police have also charged the suspect's girlfriend in the crime. Authorities said Brendan Lee Johnson and Cassandra Ann Rieb, 18, could face charges of first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, forgery and theft. Investigators said Johnson's grandfather, 70-year-old Charles Severance, was found dead in his home. Authorities discovered the dismembered remains of Shirley Anne Severance, also 70, in two locations just outside Sterling and in Lorenzo, Neb., just across the state border. Read more...

Men Sentenced in Murder of DJ Keys

Judge Lisa Borges sentenced Dontee Robinson and Dominique Hamler to 140 years in prison. The two were sentenced together and were convicted of the Murder of Thomas Keys also known as "DJ Keys". According to investigators, Keys and his cousin Marvin Finney II were lured to One Stop Media. Once there the two were zipped tied, duct taped, and shot multiple times. Woman Attacks Stepdad With Ax

A North Carolina woman attacked her stepfather with an ax because she was sick of him blaring gospel music, police in Mount Holly said. Mary Katherine Atkinson, 32, "snapped" as 72-year-old Reginald Robinson sat down to watch the late evangelist Adrian Rogers on television on Sunday, the Gaston Gazette reported. Read more...

Daughter-in-Law's Charges Upgraded

With the daughter and friends of her mother-in-law who was beaten to death behind her, Diana Nadell stared ahead, showing no emotion as the prosecutor told a judge that she now faces a first-degree murder charge in the brutal killing of the 80-year-old New York woman. The charge, which carries a sentence of life without parole, was upgraded because "The defendant hired Andrea Benson to aid her in the savage murder of Peggy Nadell," prosecutor Richard Kennison Moran told Justice Rolf Thorsen. Cedar City Police officer Jed Prisbey Imlay was charged for driving under the influence after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident in his patrol car. Man Confessed to Parents' Slaying

A Texas man has confessed to killing his parents in the prominent couple's Katy mansion. Michael Walton, 54, and Lynda Walton, 52, were found shot to death in their $1.4 million home. Ryan Robert Walton, 20, one of the couple's four children, was arrested during a traffic stop about 20 miles south of Katy. He was driving a BMW automobile registered to his parents. Read more...

Daughter Charged in Mother's Death

A woman and her partner are accused of murder, and the alleged victim is the mother of one of the suspects. Alaina Mercer and Christina Brown, both 25, were in court after being charged over the weekend in the death of Alaina's mother, Nancy Lynne Mercer, 60. Nancy Mercer was found shot dead in her Spotsylvania County home on May 18. Read more...

Six People Shot at Laundromat

Two teenagers were among six people shot at a laundromat on Chicago's South Side. Emergency officials arrived at Sudz laundry after an unidentified man allegedly walked up to the building and opened fire. 3 Women Found Dead in Home

Three women were found dead at home in a working-class Mexican-American enclave on the edge of Fort Worth's city limits with their throats slit, family members of the victims say. No arrests have been announced, and investigators have not said how the women died or given a motive. The victims were 48-year-old Cynthia Serrano, her 21-year-old daughter April Serrano, and her 35-year-old sister Cathy de Leon, said the nephew of two of the women. Read more...

Man Admits Killing Ex-Wife

Police say a Florida man has admitted to killing his ex-wife and dumping her body in Missouri. Jeffrey Mackey, 58, was arrested at a Best Western hotel in St. Augustine, Fla. He is charged with killing 48-year-old Kimberly Dawn Mackey. Jacksonville police officers had been searching for the suspect and used cellphone pings to track his location. Read more...

Dina Lohan Sentenced for 2013 DWI

Dina Lohan was sentenced today to 100 hours of community service in Nassau District Court in New York stemming from a September 2013 DWI arrest. The mother of actress Lindsay Lohan also had her driver's license suspended for one year, will have to use an interlock device -- which will only let her start her car if she's sober -- for a year and ordered to participate in a drunk-driving program and victims impact panel. Man Kills High School Student, Then Cop

A gunman fatally shot a high school student and a Norfolk police officer before being killed by authorities in Virginia. Seventeen-year-old Mark Rodriguez and Officer Brian Jones were killed in two shooting incidents in Norfolk, Va. According to the station, 29-year-old James Andrew Brown II drove down a street in a red Jeep on Friday night, spraying bullets randomly. Hernandez's Cousin Pleads Not Guilty

A cousin of former New England Patriots and Florida Gators player Aaron Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to a criminal contempt of court charge. Tanya Singleton appeared in Suffolk Superior Court where a judge ordered her confined to her Bristol, Conn. home with GPS tracking. Jack Elway, the 24-year-old son of Denver Broncos executive John Elway, has been arrested on charges of assault and disturbing the peace after he allegedly pushed a 23-year-old woman out of a moving car. Police have made two arrests following the shooting death of a 14-year-old girl in Oklahoma. Nineteen-year-old David Ruble II and 21-year-old Demonte Rushing were taken into custody separately for their alleged roles in the death of April Montano. Montano died from wounds sustained in a shooting when the truck she and her family were riding in was shot at on the Gilcrease Expressway in Tulsa County. Read more...

Girls, 12, Stab Friend 19 Times

Waukesha police say two 12-year-old girls obsessed with online horror stories lured a friend into a wooded area on Saturday where one girl held her down while the other stabbed the victim 19 times. The victim, also 12, survived the attack and police say her condition is stable. Authorities say the two suspects had planned to kill the victim for several months before attacking her over the weekend. Read more...

Dad Attacks Son's Bully on School Bus

A California father followed his 9-year-old autistic son onto the school bus and attacked his son's bully, police say. Burnis Hurd, 44, is charged with child abuse and corporal injury to a child stemming from the incident. He was being held on $50,000 bond. Richmond Police Lt. Mark Gagan said that after the father and son boarded the bus, the son pointed out an 11-year-old boy who had been bullying him. Read more...

The son of a Texas couple found dead in their home has been arrested in connection with their murder, Fort Bend Sheriff Troy Nehls said. Ryan Walton, 20, was named a "person of interest" because he was the only one of Michael and Lynda Walton's four children authorities were unable to contact. A Virginia teenager was shot and killed on the way home from a high school graduation and a police officer gunned down by a raging ex-con who was later killed by police, authorities said. A man serving life sentences for two killings was convicted in the deaths of four others who were fatally beaten with a hammer in a northwest Illinois apartment. After a little over three hours of deliberations, jurors found Nicholas Sheley, 34, guilty of murder in the deaths of 29-year-old Brock Branson; 20-year-old Kilynna Blake; her son, 2-year-old Dayan; and 25-year-old Kenneth Ulve in Rock Falls in June 2008. Man Charged in 'Bottle Bombs' Case

A 20-year-old Maryland man has been charged in Maryland and Virginia in connection with a series of incidents involving so-called "bottle bombs" at movie theaters in the Washington D.C. suburbs. Manuel Joyner, of Bowie, was arrested and has been charged in Maryland with manufacture, possession and detonation with a destructive device, a felony that carries a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison, fire officials said.
