Jogger Mauled by 4 Pit Bulls
Authorities in rural Los Angeles County were warning people to be on the lookout for four pit bulls suspected of killing a 63-year-old jogger. Sheriff's Lt. John Corina told reporters that a woman in a car saw the dogs attacking the female jogger. The witness called 911 and honked her horn to try to get the dogs to stop. Read more...

Joe Francis Convicted of Assault
Legal problems continue to follow "Girls Gone Wild" founder Joe Francis. The 40-year-old video producer who has made a fortune exploiting young, drunk females, has been convicting of assaulting a woman he met at a Hollywood nightclub. Man Stabs 4 People at Catholic Church
Police say a 24-year-old man stabbed four people at a Catholic church in Albuquerque as a Sunday mass was nearing its end. Police spokesman Robert Gibbs says Lawrence Capener jumped over several pews at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church and walked up to the choir area where he began his attack. The injuries to the four church-goers weren't life-threatening. All four were being treated at hospitals. Read more...

14 Hurt in College Stabbing Spree
At least 14 people were hurt in a stabbing spree at a Texas community college apparently carried out by a student who was later taken into custody, authorities said. At least two victims were in critical condition. The stabbing happened at the CyFair campus of Lone Star College, in the Houston suburb of Cypress. Law enforcement officials have identified student Dylan Andrew Quick, 20, as the suspected assailant, and the Harris County District Attorney's Office will soon file charges against him. Read more...

Man Charged in Drive-By Shooting of 4-Year-Old
A Ferguson man on probation for illegal possession of drugs and weapons was charged in the shooting of a 4-year-old girl in the city's Dutchtown neighborhood. Nathaniel J. Pool, 23, was charged with seven counts of first-degree assault and seven counts of armed criminal action. Pool was being held in lieu of a $200,000 cash bail. FBI Looking at 3 Roadway Shootings
The FBI has joined Michigan and local police in investigating three shootings involving vehicles on southeast Michigan roadways. The shootings happened Monday evening in Washtenaw County within roughly 15 minutes of each other. Two were in Bridgewater Township and one was in nearby Pittsfield Township, about 40 miles southwest of Detroit. No one was injured. Teen Charged in Videotaped Beating
A 14-year-old girl has been charged in juvenile court with an attack on a fellow Michigan high school student that was recorded on video and posted online. The teenager is charged with aggravated assault in connection with the March 12 altercation at Hartland High School. 2 Teens Threaten Rape Victim
A day after two high school football players were convicted of raping a 16-year-old girl, authorities arrested two Ohio girls suspected of making social media threats against the accuser. Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said the girls arrested posted threatening Facebook and Twitter comments on Sunday, the day the players were convicted in Steubenville. Steubenville police Capt. Police have arrested a Lodi man for allegedly stabbing his mother twice. At approximately 1:30 p.m., police responded to W. Locust Street where a 50-year-old woman was discovered with injuries at a neighbor's residence. Police surrounded the residence and ordered 24-year-old Chad Elliott out. Authorities End Fight Between 400 Inmates
An Arizona prison complex is on lockdown after a fight broke out among 400 inmates. Arizona Department of Corrections spokesman Bill Lamoreaux says the staff was able to quickly stop the fight that broke out at at the Whetstone Unit of the Arizona State Prison Complex in Tucson. Two prison staffers suffered minor injuries, while five inmates were brought to hospitals with injuries. The extent of the inmates' injuries wasn't immediately available. Read more...
Man Charged With Stabbing 14-Year-Old Son
Baltimore County police say a Halethorpe man has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and other offenses in connection with the stabbing of his 14-year-old son. Police say Charles V. Palmer, 50, was in his attic in his home with his son. The two were looking at knives when Palmer stabbed the boy in the neck. Woman Delivers Baby After Being Shot
Police say a pregnant Yonkers woman who was shot in the stomach has successfully delivered her baby and is in stable condition. The woman delivered her baby by emergency cesarean section and was recovering Friday at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. The victim's baby is also in stable condition. Teen Survives Being Shot 15 Times
An Atlanta teen who wanted to leave a street gang was shot more than a dozen times by members of the gang when he told them his intentions, police say. "Never since I've been in law enforcement have I seen someone shot 15 times and live," U.S. Marshal Eric Heinz said. "(He) told the other members of the gang, 'Hey, look, I want to go straight, be law-abiding,' and they weren't happy with it." The 19-year-old was shot and started crawling and moaning. School Bus Beating Caught on Camera
A school bus beating in Florida was caught on video, posted on Facebook, and ultimately got two high school girls arrested. The confrontation happened Feb. 1 as students of Mitchell High School, in Pasco County, Fla., were being dropped off at home. Video captured on a cell phone shows a teenage girl dressed in all black running to the back of the bus and repeatedly punching 16-year-old Chase Cristia, who never retaliated. The instigator of the attack, who remains unnamed, is charged with misdemeanor assault and the teen that shot the video, Sandra, is charged with a lesser offense for knowing of the fight, but not intervening, the station says. Woman Beaten on Her Way to Work
A homeless man was arrested after police accused him of beating an Indianapolis woman on her way to work. Police said Kimberly Barnes, 32, had just gotten off the bus near Delaware and Washington streets and was walking to her job at the nearby Steak 'n Shake restaurant in downtown Indy just before the attack. Man Charged in Texas College Shooting
One of three men wounded in a shooting at a Houston college campus has been charged with assault. Detectives identified the alleged shooter as Carlton Berry, 22, and charged him with aggravated assault. Berry remains in the hospital and is being treated for a gunshot wound, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Woman Found in Car Trunk After Chase
A person of interest in a Prince George's County homicide was arrested Friday night after a police chase ended in a crash and the discovery of a woman inside a trunk. Police were called to a home for a report of a fight. When they arrived, they found the body of Jamal Rami Martin, 34, inside the house. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Florida Man Dragged Behind Truck
Two women and a man are facing attempted murder charges after authorities say they shocked a Florida man with a stun gun and beat him before tying him to a truck's bumper and dragging him a half-mile down a road. Jeannette Morris, 61, her brother, 63-year-old Harold Anderson, and 46-year-old Joan Hobart are also charged with aggravated battery and conspiracy to commit murder in the incident in Samsula, Volusia County Sheriff's Office officials said. Orlando Police arrested a 35-year-old woman after her male roommate suffered life-threatening injuries in an apartment in the Rosemont community. Three Teens Charged in Home Invasion
Three teenagers were arrested and charged with burglary after making an armed home invasion on Christmas Eve. Dylan Cadorette, 17, of Bennington; Austin Cadorette, 17 of Antrim; and Isaac Lyons, 17 also of Antrim forced their way into a basement-level bedroom where one of the intruders brandished a shotgun. A 17-year-old who was sleeping in the room, confronted the intruders but was tackled and hit over the head with the butt of the shotgun by an intruder several times. An East St. Louis couple is charged with beating an elderly employee at a Metro East Best Buy. The alleged ringleader of a 2009 attack in which his South Florida middle school classmate was doused with alcohol and set on fire has been sentenced to 11 years in prison. Eighteen-year-old Matthew Bent was sentenced for an aggravated battery conviction. Researchers for the Institute for Law and Economics have released a new paper that draws a correlation between mobile phone adoption and a dramatic drop in crime in the 1990s, especially instances of rape and assault. In the paper, researchers speculate that the ability of mobile phones to allow victims to more quickly report crimes acts as a deterrent for criminals, who faced more risk in the 1990s as mobile technology became more widespread. Five Lakeland teens have been arrested and accused of taking part in the shooting of a 79-year-old man at the Lakeland Farmers Market. The Polk County Sheriff's Office are searching for two other teens who officials said were identified as being part of the group involved in the shooting. Authorities believe a disagreement over a parking space led to two people being shot and wounded outside a Walmart in Tallahassee, Fla. Michigan Police Search for Possible Sniper
Officers have begun pulling over and questioning drivers in four Michigan counties in the hopes of catching a man suspected of shooting at other motorists nearly two dozen times over the past two weeks, including one driver who was wounded over the weekend. Man Stabbed Outside Planned Parenthood
A confrontation outside a southern Oregon Planned Parenthood health center on Tuesday ended with a protester stabbing another man, police said. Earlier in the day, a woman argued with the demonstrator outside the health center. She returned later with a man who then attacked the protester, Grants Pass police Lt. Dennis Ward said. Teen Arrested in Sucker Punching of Teacher
A teenager who sucker punched a schoolteacher in a downtown alley -- an attack caught on surveillance video -- apparently picked the victim at random, police and school officials said. The surveillance video, which Pittsburgh police used to make an arrest, shows the 15-year-old suspect walking with several other youths past 50-year-old James Addlespurger. San Diego police have arrested a man suspected of tossing a chemical on a woman, causing second-degree burns to her arms and back. Police said the woman was walking into a laundromat Saturday when a man got out of a BMW, confronted her and threw the liquid substance at her. Teen Assault Suspect Surrenders in New York State
A 17-year-old accused of using a Ford-150 pickup to run over another youth after a fight has surrendered to authorities, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office said. Diante Andre Rosado surrendered to authorities in Beacon, N.Y. over the weekend, according to Cpl. Ashley Henson. He is facing a felony aggravated assault charge in Paulding County. On July 1, Rosado and a 15-year-old boy got into a fight on Hope Drive in the Twelve Oaks Subdivision off East Paulding Drive, Henson said. A judge has set an October trial date for 11 people charged with felony hazing in the death of a Florida A&M drum major. An attorney for one of the people says the trial likely won't start until next year, though, because of the number of defendants and witnesses who need to be interviewed. Shoplifting Suspect Dies While Detained at WalMart
Police say a suspected shoplifter died at a Southern California Walmart store after a fight with store security workers who caught him in the parking lot. Covina police Lt. Holly Francisco says when police arrived they found the suspect, who had attempted to steal clothing and body wash, restrained by store security and appearing to need medical help. Woman, Baby Survive After She Was Set on Fire
A pregnant Michigan woman and her unborn child miraculously survived a brutal attack where the mother was set on fire and then shot in the back, MyFoxDetroit reports. The 22-year-old woman, who was not named by police, was reportedly grabbed from behind by an unknown assailant. The attacker bound her hands and feet with duct tape, forced her into her car and drove her to Detroit. Six people in Utah who allegedly tortured their roommate for hours -- including stapling his lips together and drilling him with a power tool -- have been arrested. Jennifer Moses, 30, Lee Carl Moses, 26, David Masters, 55, Paula Masters, 43, Brandon Haggard, 20, and Tracy Jordan, 45, allegedly kidnapped Thomas Chapman, 41. Popular Detroit pastor and gospel singer Marvin Winans has been assaulted and carjacked at a gas station on the city's west side. Detroit police say the suspects fled in Winans' SUV after taking an unknown amount of money.
